Injured Indian and West Indian players ruled out of the test series

India will be without wicketkeeper–batter Rishabh Pant for the two-Test series against West Indies after the southpaw failed to fully recover from the foot injury he suffered on the England tour; Pant remains in rehabilitation at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence and is expected to target a return only after further recovery.
The West Indies’ pace attack also took a hit as Shamar Joseph has been ruled out of the India Tests with an injury and the tourists have drafted in uncapped fast-bowling cover (Johann Layne was named as one replacement), leaving the visitors short of their first-choice seam options.
