Yuvraj Singh After Retirement : Still with the never say die attitude
The man who once smashed six sixes in an over hasn’t really slowed down since hanging up his boots. Yuvraj Singh has taken his fighting spirit beyond the cricket field — building YouWeCan into a strong foundation for cancer care, investing in new Indian startups, and helping young cricketers shape their game. He even takes part in a few legends tournaments now and then. The swagger is still there — only the stage has changed. Here is a highlight of life of Yuvraj Singh after retirement.
The Glory Days: A Recap of Yuvraj's Legacy
Before we step into his post-retirement life, it’s worth remembering what made him iconic.
From his debut in 2000 to being India’s 2011 World Cup hero, Yuvraj’s career was pure theatre.
He was the middle-order magician, the man for big moments, and the one who could lift a dressing room with sheer confidence.
How India played struggled against the new ball
Perth’s bounce magnified Starc and Hazlewood’s strengths. They straightened the seam, invited the drive, and made India play. India’s top three went hard at the ball and paid. Next time in Adelaide, India may leave more deliveries early, ride the bounce, and use late cuts to beat the ring. Cricbuzz

Even after hanging up his boots in 2019, Yuvraj never really left the spotlight.
His charm, wit, and massive fanbase made him a marketer’s dream.
Philanthropy : Survival & Battle against Cancer for all
In 2011, when he was at his peak, Yuvraj was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer. His battle and comeback inspired millions. Post-recovery, in 2012, Yuvraj and his mother Shabnam Singh founded YouWeCan Foundation, an NGO which works for cancer awareness and treatment. The organisation helps people with early screening, financial support, and guidance for survivors.
The foundation has been active in screening hundreds of people for various cancers (oral, breast, head & neck), sensitising students through anti-tobacco campaigns, and establishing a dedicated treatment fund for under-privileged children under 18 whose families earn below a certain threshold — offering financial assistance up to ₹2 lakh in many cases.
Partnering with hospitals and CSR donors, YouWeCan has supported paediatric cancer treatment, facilitated scholarships for cancer-survivor students, and launched large-scale campaigns such as “Swasth Mahila, Swasth Goa”.
